The Tennessee Valley Authority supports tailwater recreation in our region by maintaining water flow to support aquatic life and provides scheduled releases for all TVA dams. The TVA generation schedules are posted daily after 5:00PM. The night before your day of fishing, your guide will contact you by phone as soon as he knows the generation schedule in order to go over the next day’s strategy. You can view the information below to get the most up-to-date information on each reservoir the TVA manages. You’ll be able to view planned generation releases, fish population survey results, and more. This information is updated throughout the day as conditions change, so check often. Note: The Watauga levels are controlled by the Wilbur Dam.
You can also check lake levels on the go with TVA’s Lake Info App for iPhone & Android devices. This is exceptionally handy when you’re already on the water! Be sure to obey posted rules and warnings to stay safe!
